Many international airlines fly into Melbourne. If you are attending the IME conference in Hong Kong, you can fly directly from Hong Kong. It is usually cheaper to book a single ticket with multiple sectors.
Note that all visitors to Australia must obtain an entry visa.
We have not reserved any hotel rooms rooms for workshop participants. The Spot is a short tram ride from central Melbourne (north of the river) and there are many hotels close to Elizabeth Street and Swanston Street which are the two main tram routes (Elizabeth Street is closer to the Workshop venue). Possible hotel venues close to the university include:
- Vibe, on Royal Parade, north of the university and a short tram ride or 20 minute walk to the Spot
- Rydges on Swanston Street, a 5 minute walk to the Spot
- The Travel Inn in Drummond Street, a 10 minute walk to the Spot (not on a tram line)
- Ibis on Therry Street, on the fringe of the CBD, a 10 minute walk to the Spot
- Downtowner on Lygon Street, a 10 minute walk to the Spot (not on a tram line)
There are many excellent hotel deals to be found on websites such as www.lastminute.com.au
